WASHINGTON - The Northwest Missouri State University men's basketball team was honored at the national level earlier this week.
In an email, Missouri Senators Roy Blunt and Josh Hawley announced that the Senate unanimously approved a resolution honoring the team.
Northwest won the national title by defeating West Texas A and M, 80 to 54, back in March. The Bearcats have won the Division 2 national championship three times in the last five years.
